I'm Emma. I spend my days in a lovely studio in Walthamstow, illustrating, designing and making.
My work spans editorial illustration, hand scripted typography, fashion, digital media & marketing, textile print design, ceramic commissions & artwork for musicians and bands. I've had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clients, both in the UK and internationally, including J.Crew, Monsoon, 93FT, Mission Media, Seen Presents, Innis & Gunn, New World Trading Company, West Cornwall pasty Company, Hearst Magazines UK, & Debbie Bliss.
I love to use traditional skills and methods in my work. Screen printing, paper cutting, and ceramics satisfy the maker in me and my trusty dipping nib and inks are the perfect medium to create intricate illustrative pieces.
I originally trained in Ceramics at Falmouth College of Arts and more recently, undertook a month long residency in Slovakia that taught me how to master the art of bobbin lace, hand sewn lace and crochet. I've spent time teaching as an artist in residence and ran my own arts & crafts classes for young people on behalf of the SOHO House group for 5 years.
I welcome all commissions as an opportunity to create something beautiful; for me the process is equally as important as the end result. I look forward to seeing what we will create together. Please get in touch.
